A typical lounge room from the 1950s

The Proserpine Museum and Historical Society Inc. offers research facilities of their extensive collection. The collection comprises many quality photographs, a huge collection of local documents including copies of the local newspapers - The Proserpine Whitsunday Coast Guardian and the Whitsunday Times.

The history of the Whitsunday Islands is also well represented and a CD titled The Whitsunday Islands 1770 - 1990 by Ray Blackwood is available exclusive from the museum for $25. It has an enormous amount of information and photographs of the islands and coastline history.

Research is undertaken by the Research Committee only at this point in time at $11.00 per hour plus photocopying, postage, etc.

Photographs are available at the museums discretion at $10 per copy and are copyright.

All requests should be made in writing or completing a Research Request Form available at the museum.
